There’s good news on the global malaria front. Despite financial constraints in Washington, the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate have upheld commitments to malaria control spending in the 2013 fiscal year, passing bills that will continue to fund efforts to save lives.
Malaria is an international problem, but efforts to control it are often national in scope. To fill in these gaps and help raise awareness across borders, the United Against Malaria campaign has reenforced international football matches and tournaments with strategic messaging sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football and some of Africa's biggest multi-national companies.
